In the past, Peter Walker has supported local RNIB projects where extracts from his books, or indeed entire books, have been read by volunteers and recorded on tape for use by the visually impaired. Those occasions were many years ago and he has no immediate recollection of which books were used, although, of course, the relevant records will be lodged somewhere deep in his filing system. As a professional author, however, it is vital that Peter protects the copyright in his works, consequently upon those past and very special occasions his agent charged a fee of just £1 for those who made use of his books for that singular purpose. That tiny fee served to protect the copyright in his works - which means of course, that he can repeat the deals so that others may benefit in similar ways long into the future.
